Pecan Festival

This weekend Dziadziu came down for a visit and we all loaded up and went to the Pecan Festival. Sarah and I "ran" (mostly walked) the 5k in the morning. The race was called "Run Like A Nut." Cute huh? There was even a lady handing out pecans on the way. Then we all walked the festival grounds. The men enjoyed the classic cars and we had to leave Daddy Rufus talking to go get some food. We ate lots of really unhealthy food and then I followed that up with the ultimate unhealthy dessert; A battered and deep fried Twinkie. It was great.

One of the booths had a person dressed as a squirrel. Get it pecans - squirrel. HA! Ok, well we got little man close to the squirrel and he wasn't scared at all. He just kept wanting to put his hand in the squirrel's mouth. Very odd behavior but after watching everything else he does right on target for this child. Who else's kid says mama, dada, yes, this, and that but not no or anything else.

Anyways, here is a cute picture I took of little man on our front porch. He almost got up in the rocking chair all by himself. He also almost flipped it over backwards because he loves to stand in rocking chairs and the porch ones aren't as stable as the rest in our house. He has cut his first molar, which we thought he might be working on because for the last week or so he would wake in the middle of the night screaming, but always worked himself back to sleep. What a good kid.
