Working.

It seems that Rufus' little mind is always working. He is crawling everywhere but still doesn't get the belly up off the ground. He loves anything that opens and closes and has started banging room doors against the stoppers. He found the knob on the blower for the gas logs yesterday and wasn't too thrilled when he had to keep crawling back to it when the mommy airlifted him to the center of the living room again. For the last few days he has been mesmerized with the air vent covers in the floors. Last night while the Daddy was surfing the internet right before bed he decided to pick it up. The craziest thing I have ever seen. An 8 month old holding an air vent cover in one hand. His little mind was working overtime trying to figure out what to do with it.

He has also been working steadily on one of his top teeth. It is about to break through. I can see a little white circle pressing on the gums. It should be any day now.

Poor little guy is working in his sleep too. I think that he has night terrors. While it says that children can develop these as early as 8 months, it says that they are not as common. It mostly affects children 3-12. I had also heard that it was genetic. I used to sleep walk and talk, which I have heard is a form of night terrors and Daddy Rufus still does when he is stressed. So the little one doesn't have much hope. The last three nights he has woke screaming and we can't console him; he just works through it and it always happens about an hour and a half after his night feeding. The sites I have been researching say the timing is a sign it is night terrors too.

Fortunately with night terrors you don't remember anything in the morning and he is still a happy baby.
