We had 2 vacations this year. Our friends vacation and our family vacation. It was alot of work and a lot of fun. For those moms out there that have ever been on vacation with a toddler and a baby, you know that means it was a lot of work for me and a lot of fun for them.
We went on vacation with the Kelli and Michael. Kelli's brother works for the Coast Guard and took us on a tour of the Coast Guard station. Here Rufus is wearing the helicopter pilot's helmet.
Of course everybody had to take a turn getting in the helicopter. Lil Rufus may be a pilot one day. He loves to push buttons.
Thanks to Kelli, we got this picture of Emmett playing pretend too.
Daddy and Emmett headed to the helicopter.
We decided to climb to the top of the lighthouse. I don't remember who thought this was a good idea, but man was it a lot of work. Daddy had to hold Lil Rufus hand up the 170+ stairs.
And yes, I carried the butterball Emmett up all those stairs. Here we all are at the top.
And here we are all at the bottom.
Emmett, Lil Rufus, and Jack (Kelli and Michael's little one) headed out on the town. Emmett and Jack are almost 48 hours apart and were almost exactly the same size.
Now we are on the way to the beach. Emmett was having some balance issues.
I don't know what vacation would be complete without a trip to a fort. Or at least that is what I remember from my childhood. So it is our turn to torture our children.
Here are the Rufii in the gunpowder room. Notice how there are both smiling. They must be up to no good. Watch out.
Here are all the boys with the canon. No trip to a fort is complete without the obligatory canon picture. Emmett is really cheesing it up, but Daddy doesn't look so happy.
My boys got to spend some time with their cousins. Here they are with 4 of their 6 cousins.
