Lights at the Zoo

So it worked out the best time and coincidentally the best weather for the zoo was the day after Christmas. We loaded up the Yukon with Big Rufus, Granny, Auntie Sarah, Little Rufus, our friend Carla, Babcia, and me. Loaded is a nice way of putting it. When they say it seats 7 they weren't counting real people. But at least the Zoo isn't too far away. We had a blast and all the regular exhibits were still open. So we got to see the aquarium (Little Rufus' favorite) and the sleeping Koalas.

Sarah took this picture and I couldn't help adding it. Yes, that is a crab eating out of a Mr. Potato Head.

Don't know if you can see it real well, but that is a little foot sticking out so he can recline better, and he is sucking his thumb through the glove. He runs so warm that all he had on was a sweat suit and he was almost sweating. All the other kids were loaded down with winter clothes.

After looking at the lights we decided to ride the Carousel. Here we are. Little Rufus, me, Sarah, and Carla.

Here are the no takers. Big Rufus wanted some Hot Cocoa.

Sarah and Carla were on opposite horses one up while the other was down. They were trying to get a picture together. They had fun on the carousel.

So did Little Rufus.

You can't tell his Daddy is an engineer. We spent most of the Carousel ride looking at the gears.

And we ended our trip with a South Carolina Christmas Family Portrait. Palmetto trees strung with lights. Little Rufus did so well. This was at the time we are normally placing him in his crib and we still had about an hour and 15 minute ride home.
