We did have a blast though with out friends Travis and Leigh. Travis was Rufus' best man in our wedding. Here is a picture of us all on formal night.
We all went snuba diving on Friday in Key West. Snuba diving is like scuba only you share a tank with someone else and the tank is on a raft. It's for beginners like us. Oh yeah and you also have a trained scuba diver to keep an eye on you. It was kind of scary at first. Every time I inhaled I would hyperventalate and every time I would exhale my mask would pull away from my face. Turns out I can't exhale without blowing air out of my nose. So I had to plug my nose through the mask. Ha! We also went to Capt Tony's bar, which I can say is by far the crumbiest bar I have ever been in, but it is where Jimmy Buffet got his start and Ernest Hemingway did some writing. So I can just chalk it up to a new experience. We had a chance to grab some Key Lime Pie and it was fabulous. I got mine frozen and dipped in chocolate. I will not forget that any time soon.
Rufus and I went to the Mayan ruins of Tulum and to Xel-Ha in Mexico. Xel-Ha is a natural Lagoon that has been turned into an amusement park. They are very careful about protecting nature so you are not allowed to wear suntan lotion in the park. The water was so clear that you could see straight down to the bottom, and you could even see the fish. According to our tour guide this is the location that they shot the movie Blue Lagoon with Brooke Shields, and I would believe it. This is a picture of Rufus hanging out at the mouth of the lagoon and the ocean.
We also had a good time
on the boat. There was 9 hole miniature golf course on the top deck and it was a blast. Every time your ball would settle down and stop a big gust of wind off the ocean would come and sweep your ball away. It became more a game of chance, luck, and speed of play rather skill. We had plenty to drink and that kept my mind of getting motion sickness or it may have just disguised the motion sickness as a hang over. I took a picture off the side of the boat because the color of the water was just to pretty. I hope that we can go back again soon.
